The Yorkshire Cricket Board is pleased to announce the launch of the county’s 2018 Women’s Soft Ball Cricket Programme. With over 50 Festivals planned across the county in the coming months, female participation in the county is set to soar.
Soft Ball cricket is designed to be fun, fast, safe and social for players of all ability, whether they’ve played before or never even picked up a bat. No game lasts more than an hour and all equipment is provided for participants. It’s entirely free for all participants to get involved in, with a free T-shirt thrown in too!
Last year saw the first round of Soft Ball Festivals in Yorkshire as 10 took place at numerous Cricket Clubs around the region. This year the programme is bigger and better than ever, not only running at over 50 venues but also expected to attract over 2000 more Women & Girls to pick up a bat and have a hit!
Millie Behrens, Women’s Soft Ball Co-ordinator for the Yorkshire Cricket Board said: ‘Whatever your level of ability or experience, Women’s Soft Ball Cricket is for you! You can turn up with a team of mates or on your own, everyone is catered for with the rules designed to be fun, fast and easy to pick up. It’s cricket like you’ve never seen it before with loads going on off field too for all the family. Don’t miss your chance to get involved and get signing up today for one of our many Festivals near you!’
‘With over 500 women getting involved last year and the vast majority completely new to the game, you’re guaranteed to be in great company so grab your opportunity to pick up a bat and ball and give cricket a go!’
There’s more than just cricket on show at the Festivals too, previous festivals have housed DJs, BBQs, Food Vans, Rodeo Bulls and much more.
With festivals running throughout the summer at a variety of different venues you’re sure to find a festival you can attend.
