North Yorkshire Women & Girls Cricket is responsible for the development of cricket for all ages. We are responsible for arranging and promoting representative Women & Girls cricket and other competitions, regardless of their ability.
Our mission statement is to ensure the growth of the development group and to develop cricket for women & girls within the area. We work in partnership with the Yorkshire Cricket Board (YCB), local authorities, clubs, schools, colleges and individuals interested in the development of women & girls cricket. Amongst our aims we encourage and promote participation as players, officials, coaches and administrators. We work within the area; irrespective of age, disability, race, ethnic origin, colour creed, social status or sexual orientation.
The North Yorkshire Girls Friendly League, offers Girls from around the county an opportunity to play in competitive matches. Matches are played with both hard and softball. The league, now in its fifth season, continues to grow. More games are played year on year – further enhancing our aim of getting more girls playing and enjoying cricket. We hold a successful 6-a-side tournament each year at Scarborough in August. Alongside the Harrogate end of season tournament in September.
We continue to work closely with both the Women & Girls County squads alongside that of the Yorkshire Diamonds who compete in the Kia Super League.
The group are grateful to our sponsors, Pro Coach and Kettlewell Fuels, for their support during the year.
